Aventura, FL (December 21, 2011) Snip-its (www.snipits.com), one of the country’s fastest-growing chains of children’s hair salons, is opening in Aventura's Promenade Shopes on Jan. 12, 2012. Located on Biscayne Boulevard and owned by Karen and Avi Assor, Snip-its Aventura will offer children’s haircuts and styles; spa services, including mini facials, manicures and pedicures; children's entertainment; prizes; natural hair care products; accessories; toys; and more. The grand opening will take place from Thursday, Jan. 12 - Sunday, Jan. 15. Face painting, arts and crafts, cupcakes, cookies and other special activities and treats will be provided for the kids. Snip-its Aventura will be open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

As part of its grand opening, Snip-its Aventura will donate 15% of its proceeds to the South Florida Autism Charter Schools. All of Snip-its' stylists are certified to work with children with autism and other special needs. The Snip-its Corporation partnered with the national Autism Speaks organization to create a haircutting guide for stylists and parents of children with autism.

First launched in 1995 by founder Joanna Meiseles, Snip-its has since been revolutionizing the hair care industry by creating a branded entertainment concept designed to untangle the hair-care challenges of children. Currently, Snip-its has more than 60 locations in 26 U.S. states. The Aventura, FL location will be one of three of this franchise in Florida.

With life-size characters, music and games, Snip-its has turned what was once a tedious chore into an amazing adventure, filled with fun, games and excitement. Upon entering the salon, parents and children step into a magical cartoon world of adventure characterized by floor-to-ceiling cartoon murals and vibrant splashy colors. In the waiting area, they can enjoy the Snip-its show, featuring a whimsical cast of cartoon characters; play with toys; or browse the retail space filled with a selection of natural hair care products, specialty toys and gifts, and hair and fashion accessories. Each cutting station includes a special parent chair, and an entertainment station featuring computer games and activities for the little ones. Upon completion of the haircut, children insert a lock of hair into the “Snip-its Magic Box” for a prize.

"Snip-its is about so much more than getting your haircut," said owner Karen Assor. "It's about creating an experience that will leave both parents and children feeling satisfied, happy and excited about their next visit."
